Our publisher, Karl Woolfenden has worked in the meetings and events industry with some of the biggest brands in the World.
When the Global Pandemic, COVID-19, placed the industry on hold for the past few months he was amazed at the response that the Freeman company had, and the speed at which they rallied the industry together and created Go Live Together .
In only a few weeks they had an amazing website up and running and over 2000 organizations and companies showed their support, by joining Freeman and they are looking at the future of meetings, trade-shows and events.
Technology has stepped up to meet some of the needs of businesses, but it’s not the complete answer, and Freeman is working with other innovative companies to shape the future of what this industry will become.
Design and innovation is the key to how meetings and events will use technology blended with the human interaction, and Karl talked to Bruce Mau, the Chief Design Officer for Freeman and they touched on these key points that are going to make live events even more effective.
Bruce Mau serves as Chief Design Officer of Freeman, and is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Massive Change Network (MCN), a global design consultancy based in Chicago. The work of the Canadian-born designer, innovator, visionary and author has been dedicated to applying the power of design to transforming the world. Informed by three decades of design studio experience and collaborations with many of the world’s leading artists and architects, cultural institutions and global companies, Mau has evolved his own design thinking methodology to inspire innovative solutions to challenges in any field or environment and on any scale
Go LIVE Together has assembled leaders from across the diverse and vibrant live events ecosystem to drive local, state, and federal legislative actions that will not only be critical to our ability to put millions of people back to work, but also for our country’s economic recovery.
Every events industry recovery dollar will lead to incremental spending on travel, hotels, and restaurants, supporting Main Street merchants decimated by COVID-19. Live events industry legislative relief will serve as its own “stimulus package” because funds will be used to rekindle both an important economic sector and many connected companies. Our industry was producing tens of thousands of events per year before COVID-19, so the economic impact of live events cannot be overstated.
We hope you will join our efforts in sharing what we all already know to be true—nothing in the world will ever replace the power and need for live events.
Let’s Go LIVE Together!
