Tomahawk Robotics Awarded $6.5M Contract with United States Marine Corps
Tomahawk Robotics is thrilled to announce the award of the Autonomy and Robotics Enhanced Multi-Domain Infantry Squad (ARTEMIS) program through the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL). The $6.5M award spans activities and deliveries scheduled from 2022 through 2024
The ARTEMIS program builds on capabilities delivered under Tomahawk Robotics’ existing Radio Agile Integrated Device (RAID) contract with MCWL. With the ARTEMIS contract, Tomahawk Robotics will integrate six additional unmanned systems and several ground radios used by the US Marine Corps into the Kinesis Ecosystem. These unmanned systems include both ground and airborne platforms in use by US Marine Corps Infantry Units.
Brad Truesdell, Tomahawk Robotics’ CEO said “This is another major step forward in our work to deliver AI-enabled universal robotic command and control for our men and women in uniform. Through this program, we will deliver products providing for the safe, efficient, and intuitive control of robotic systems by the US Marine Corps.”
The ARTEMIS program leverages previous DoD investments to provide a fully integrated common control and communications solution for both air and ground unmanned systems. It will enable universal robotic control of legacy Program of Record (PoR) systems as well as next-generation unmanned systems, sensors, and payloads for dismounted Marine Corps units. Universal robotic control technologies provide infantry units with significant improvements in situational awareness, mission success, and lethality to meet the challenges of tomorrow’s battlefield.
Tomahawk Robotics is proud to support the Marine Corps and the US DoD through this work.
Tomahawk Robotics is the leading innovator of common control solutions that transform how humans and unmanned systems work together to make the world more safe and secure. Our products and technology safeguard users working under the most extreme and stressful conditions. Designed from the ground up with the user in mind, Kinesis is the only multi-domain, cross-architecture, AI-enabled control system that unlocks intuitive interaction with remote environments from across the room or around the world.

United Training Launches New Cybersecurity Joint Program with CompTIA Apprenticeships for Tech
United Training, an IT training and professional development company, has partnered with CompTIA as part of its Apprenticeships for Tech program. This joint effort will place aspiring cybersecurity professionals with top employers.
United Training is the latest company to join CompTIA Apprenticeships for Tech, a national initiative to help employers fill current and long-term IT staffing needs through an “earn and learn” apprenticeship program, and to do so in a way that opens employment opportunities for veterans, women and underserved communities.
“We’ve trained thousands of IT professionals and we continue to hear about the ongoing skills gap that organizations face,” said Jamie Fiely, president of United Training & Academy. “Working hand in hand with CompTIA to address those needs, while also supporting DEI&B initiatives, is exactly what we’re all about. We’re ready to help employers recruit talent from new diverse populations and prepare them for success in these high demand security roles.”
United Training is functioning as an intermediary serving both employers and apprentices under a U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) standards-based Registered Apprenticeship. Services provided to the employer include screening potential candidates, administration and reporting and the building and delivery of a thorough training plan. United Training will also assume responsibility of the apprentice’s success while assisting with any HR issues that may arise.
“Apprenticeships are a proven method for building the technical and durable skills that employers are looking for and to do so in a way that brings a broader diversity of people into the workforce,” said Amy Kardel, senior vice president for workforce relationships at CompTIA. “It’s a winning strategy for any organization that’s looking to grow and diversify its tech team. United Training is a valued partner with a team experienced at successfully transitioning people into careers in technology. We are pleased to welcome them to our apprenticeship program.”
CompTIA Apprenticeships for Tech, a collaborative effort between the American Institutes for Research (AIR) and CompTIA, is a USDOL standards-based Registered Apprenticeship program. The USDOL selected AIR and CompTIA to serve as a national Industry Intermediary for expansion of apprenticeship in tech occupations. Massive data theft in China: What to do if your data ends up on the Dark Web
Cybersecurity expert offers suggestions for keeping your information secure after a data leak
Yesterday, an unknown hacker group claimed to have stolen the personal information of 1 billion Chinese citizens from a Shanghai police database. Among the 23 TB of hacked data: national identity documents, names, addresses, places of birth and telephone numbers, and even judicial information. After companies, organizations, or in this case governments get hacked, the personal data of affected people can later be sold on the dark web.
A recent study by NordVPN analyzed one of the markets on the dark web. The market has sold items totalling more than 17.3 million dollars to this day, many of which included the sensitive personal data of people affected by data leaks around the world. Among the items sold were payment card data, passport and ID scans, email batches with passwords, and even full identity sets, which included everything that criminals need to perform identity theft.
“This data breach in China is an opportunity to remind yourself of the things that can be done when a leak like this one happens. Of course, we urge people to share as little sensitive information as possible about themselves online because there is a great chance that if their data gets stolen, criminals will try to sell it on the dark web. But there are ways to reduce the consequences,” Daniel Markuson, a cybersecurity expert at NordVPN, says.
What to do if your personal information gets leaked
- Beware of phishing scams
The more information available about you online, the more personalized and sophisticated phishing scams can become. Phishing scams are very effective because criminals usually use a piece of real private information. So if you know that some of your personal information may be available to criminals, you should be on guard.
Daniel Markuson recommends looking out for seemingly legitimate, personalized messages from banks or other familiar organizations. Caution especially important if they ask for more personal details, fund transfers, or to click on a link.
- Get back into your account
The first important step for you to do is to log in to your account and change the password. It shouldn’t be “password” or “imthekingoftheworld.” Your password needs to be strong. Try this trick: think of a statement, for example, “I love to go for a walk every evening.” Then, turn it into 1l2g4awEVe (replacing I with 1, to with 2, for with 4, and every with EV).
If possible, use two-step authentication and get a password manager like NordPass. Most importantly, never reuse the same password for all of your accounts.
- Take care of your other accounts
If you have used the same or similar password for more than one account, change it on all other key platforms and accounts immediately. That includes your email, Facebook, Amazon, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Even though hackers may have gotten hold of your hashed password, there’s still a chance they can decrypt it and get the real password.
If you don’t change your passwords immediately after the leak, your online accounts can be compromised and sold on the dark web. A hacked Netflix account can be bought for 10 USD on the dark web, an Uber account for 12 USD, and a Twitter account for as little as 2 USD.
- Update your settings and available data
Review the privacy settings and data you provide on both the breached platform or company and any other major platforms you use. Be sure to only share the required information and delete what is not necessary, such as your phone number. This way, even if your account is hacked, it will be less valuable to hackers.
A common piece of advice is to share as little as possible online. If you don’t intend to get the world’s attention, change your account settings from “Public” to “Private.”
